DeFi Security Bible
- What is this book about?
The Security Bible is brought to you by the DeFi Pioneers and the Authors of
the World's First book about DeFi and the Amazon Bestseller - the “Wall
Street Era is Over”.
Despite hundreds of security audit providers and whitehat hackers trying to
do their best at preventing hacks in the crypto space, industry participants
become victims of scams and exploits every day. It’s not always the case
that projects you consider to invest in or use for your routine DeFi
operations have been analyzed for security by top audit providers and
passed all crucial checks. Thus, doing at least some basic due diligence
before interacting with any protocol is a must.
On one hand, DeFi scams and exploits go increasingly sophisticated. And
even professional smart contract auditors can have a hard time figuring
out what was a backdoor of a specific attack even after it had already
happened. So, even full-on manual auditing doesn’t guarantee prevention
of all possible risks.
On the other hand, we can talk about some major patterns and signs
helping to detect if a DeFi project is risky. Knowing them will allow you to
filter out a large portion of malicious actors aiming to steal your funds. And
that’s the goal of this book.
We are going to show you what are frequent backdoors by contract and
protocol type, how you can do on-chain analysis with easily accessible
tools such as Etherscan, and extract plenty of useful security information
even without reading the actual smart contract code. But we will not
bypass diving into smart contract functionality as well.
